media log

Welcome to the media log! Here I will log mostly movies or shows I have seen and briefly talk about them. These arent in-depth reviews, just lil descriptions. I don't really have a review system, but i will be putting a little star(☆) next to films I particularly enjoyed. Also, I don't think I will be mentionning EVERYTHING I watch (I don't really want to put the effort in coding stuff I didn't like haha).

If you are interested in knowing my every move film wise, go check out my Letterboxd!

    Brazil (1985) ☆
I love this movie so much you don't understand. I've watched like 5 times already. I grew up watching monthy python, so it makes sense that I love this film. Terry Gilliam is a fucking GENIUS. WORK CRITIQUE ON BUREAUCRACY YEEESSS

    Tenue de Soirée (1986) ☆
MICHEL BLANC!!!! Very theatrical, like literally the way they talk is similar to a play. LOVED IT even though I didn't get all,of it but that's ok.

    Shéhérazade (2018) ☆
VIVE LE SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUD. It feels so realistic, almost like a documentary? It feels so genuine

    Tom à la Ferme (2013) ☆
XAVIER DOLAN I LOVE YOU XAVIER DOLAN. Listen, I don't usually go for horror, but this was my SHIT. Xavier Dolan is so good at his job. It feels so claustrophobic and weird and it's GREAT. Also I love the québécois accent in general so yeah.

    Marie-Antoinette (2006) ☆
    I love Sophia Coppola

    La Boum (1980)
Originally i thought I was going to hate this, because my french father kept saying how it was about "rich people", but i loved it (and he did too after rewatching). I strongly recommend watching this with a nostalgic parisisan man who grew up in the 80s. Anyway love the juxtaposition between the cheating father and daughter or whatever good film! Also great music

    Rebel Whithout a Cause (1955)
YOUNG JAMES DEAN SOME SAY H E LOOKS LIKE HIS FATHER BUT HE BCOULD NEVER LUV SOMEBODYS DAUGHTER

    la Pianiste (2001) ☆
FAB. Creppy and fucked up, work. I love themes of repression, and Isabelle Huppert plays that beautifully.

    Les Reines du Drame (2024)
This movie has AMAZING graphic design, set design, lighting, colours costumes and makeup. Not surprising as it was made by gay people. Also great humour and a critique on fame n stuff, lots of little jokes and references on pop culture also BILAL HASSANI YAAAAAY

The Muppets Christmas Carol (1992) ☆
Now I know this might rattle the Muppets fandom, but in my humble opinion, this is the best muppet movie. NOT ONLY, it is one of the BEST family christmas movies EVER.

    Escape from Alcatraz (1979)
    Werk Clint Eastwood

    Little Big Man (1970) ☆
Directed by Arthur Penn and starring Dustin Hoffman, Little big man explores the life of a man who was raised by native americans and lived through "the wild wild west". My dad told me to watch this, I really like how they depict native americans in a positive light (especially for the time). Also how the main character just experiences different parts of history. I really enjoyed this!

    Matthias et Maxime (2019)
Very long but very good. Also really funny, also I like how little they interact with eachother during the movie. Anyway Xavier Dolan iluvu

    Three Steps Above Heaven (2010)
HOLY SHIT THIS MOVIE IS SO BAD LMAO. Watched as a joke with friends, it's so bad it's good you know?

    Yellow Submarine (1968)
My fav movie as a kid. Great music, great animation, Character design backrounds colours just everyting. Especially loved the blue meanies.

    Rope (1947) ☆
I LOVE THIS I LOVE IT

    Tangerine (2015) ☆

    Life of Brian (1979)
    BIGGUS DICKUS

    series

    Mad Men (2008) ☆
I have rewatched this show too many times. But it did take me three tries to finish, I started watching this when I was quite young so I didn't really get all the corporate financial stuff but mad men is just so good! The attention to detail with the costumes, sets dialogs and history.Really like the "technicolour" filter in the earlier seasons. They did my boy Sal DIRTY though. Fav episode: Babylon

    Hannibal (2013) ☆
SO GOOD. Amazing props, really like the style especially the crime scenes. Great editing, the acting can get a bit slow and it does feel kinda "artfilmy" but it's still great! i do kinda wish they stayed in a more "monster of the week" format. Fav episode: Amuse- Bouche

    Columbo (1972) ☆
Wasn't really sure if I should put this in series or movies, cuz every Columbo episode is kinda like a movie. I just love Peter Falk, and i love 60s-70s shit. SLAY

    Sherlock (1970)
In my tumblr era. Listen, I was OBSSESED with this show when I was 10-12, I thought it was the best shit to ever exist. And it is good, but while rewatching recently I did notice that it was low-key embarassing at times. Especially the mind palace scenes where Benedict cumberbatch looks like he's having a stroke or something. It is still a really great show, Moriarty is AMAZING. Fav episode: Scandal in Belgravia

    Monty Python's Flying Circus (1969) ☆
When I was a kid my mom would just download random stuff for me to watch. I love 60s-70s shit ok, and monty python is so iconic, they basically created absurdist humour. I really like the little animations (long live Terry Gilliam)

    The Inbetweeners (2008) ☆
SCIENTIFICALLY ACCURATE TEENAGE BOYS. I love this show, it's so funny. You forget they are played by adults! Also they randomly have a killer soundtrack. Fav episode: Bunk-off

    Father Ted (1995)
Just learned this year that father ted was made by a british company. British company making show about Irish Catholics in the 90s? WOOPS. Anyway really funny. Fav episode: A song for Europe

    Ghosts (2019)
    HORRIBLE HISTORIIIIIIIIES.
